In the exhibition area of Fabrica of Culture, has installed environmental interpretation report with integrated thematic approach of the region, through a dynamic and interactive presentation style, in order to:
- promote and enhance of agricultural production (primary sector) and seaborne trade (tertiary sector) and the relationship between them in the Eastern Peloponnese
- provide information about the economic and social life of the region of Tsakonia during the 19th and 20th century,
- emergence of specific cultural identity of the wider area of Tsakonia and Kynouria
- strengthening of the tourism product of the region.
The exhibition is divided into three sections.
Α’ Chapter: From the “garden of Dionysus” to the garden of “Leonidio”
- Gods and myths of Kynouria: The Garden of Dionysus and the cave of Ino.
- Since ancient Kynourians to Herod Atticus: The ancient settlements of Kynouria and the ancient port of Prasies.
- The Tsakonia in the Middle Ages: “Tzekones” and “Kastrofylakas”, the “rebel” Tsakonians.
- Architectural masterpieces: Architecture and Nature: a harmonious dialogue, to the traces of monastic life, lofty towers, hewing the stone.
- “Tsakonia … the specifics of isolation”, “Kaur ekokiate” – The region, The Tsakonian language, Rare artefacts – Tsakonian traditional costume and Tsakonian weaving, The Tsakonikes dance.
Β’ Chapter: From the garden of “Leonidio” to the Protected Designation of Origin
Agriculture and development of crops of olives and vines, vegetables and eggplant, rural construction and facilities.
